Wendy Wu Tours has joined the Truly Independent Professional Travel Organisation earlier this month.
The operator has made the move in order to access more travel agents as it targets further growth in its own business.
Managing director Laurence Hicks said: “TIPTO will put us in front of a much wider selection of agents and clearly demonstrate that we are serious about working with them.
“We want to get closer to agents and work with them to deliver positive business growth. This is not just a ‘cosying up’ exercise, what we really want is solid business from the retail sector.”
The joining of TIPTO is just one of the initiatives undertaken by the operator to get closer to the trade – it has also joined the Association of Independent Tour Operators and has appointed Gary McIntyre as its new business development executive responsible for Scotland, border regions and the north east.
Hick said: “I believe joining AITO puts a stamp of credibility on the fact we are niche and specialist.”
