Saga Pearl II farewell voyage details announced

Saga Cruises ship Saga Pearl II is being retired from the fleet after a 54-night voyage to Africa.

Details have been released today of the voyage from Portsmouth in February 2019.

The ship is being replaced by the 999-passenger new-build Spirit of Discovery in summer 2019.

Saga Pearl II first set sail as Astor in December 1981 and changed names to Arkona, Astoria and Quest for Adventure before becoming Saga Pearl II when joining the Saga fleet in 2010.

The African ‘farewell adventure’ departs on February 16, 2019 including calls in South Africa and Namibia, Mozambique and the remote island of St Helena.

Saga Pearl II’s 202nd and final sailing before being retired also calls into The Gambia, Luanda in Angola, Luderitz and Walvis in Namibia, Maputo in Mozambique and Dakar in Senegal.

Other ports of call include Porto Grande in Cape Verde; Funchal, Madeira; Santa Cruz, Tenerife; Gran Canaria and Ferrol in Spain.
