With a chapel on every corner and endless Elvis impersonators waiting in the wings to be witnesses, Vegas does weddings in a big way.


Not only do you not have to be a resident to get hitched, there are no waiting periods or red tape either – you can even get married in your hire car at a drive-through.

  • Las Vegas plays host to more than 100,000 ceremonies a year.

  • On Valentine’s Day in 2006, 1,228 marriages were performed.

  • On July 7 2007, more than 3,000 couples said “I do” – 07/07/07 is the ultimate jackpot, and the date landed on a Saturday.

  • Wedding themes range from pirates to Tom Jones.

  • Couples can get married on a helicopter, a boat or even on the bridge of the Starship Enterprise at the Star Trek Experience.

  • The most popular wedding days in Las Vegas are Valentine’s Day and New Year’s Eve.
