London Luton Airport sees passenger increase

London Luton Airport saw over 145,000 passengers travelling through the Airport over the busy July getaway.

The figure represents a passenger increase of 5% on 2007.

The poor UK weather and start of the school holidays signalled a busy period for the airport. Key summer sun destinations this year include the Balearic Islands and mainland Spain, with Alicante and Malaga most popular.

Larnaca and Paphos in Cyprus, Dalaman and Bodrum in Turkey and Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt have also seen healthy passenger numbers travelling from Luton.
