Two aircraft in minor collision at Manchester Airport

Two aircraft have been involved in a minor “wingtip” collision at Manchester Airport.

At 1.30pm today two aircraft were taxiing out to Manchester Airport’s runway one when the wingtip of a Futura aircraft (FUA1918) which was travelling to Tenerife with 180 passengers and crew on board and a Lufthansa aircraft (LH4853) travelling to Frankfurt carrying 108 passenger and crew touched wings.

None of the passengers or crew were injured. Passengers are likely to complete their journeys later today after being returned to the terminal.

The Airport Fire Service is assessing both aircraft.  Airport operations have not been affected and there are no additional flight delays.
