Train ticket provider RailTourGuide has struck an exclusive commercial deal with the Advantage Travel Partnership.
The agreement gives Advantage members access to the supplier’s rail product range.
The move follows RailTourGuide agreeing to work with Scottish technology company Atomised to develop a global rail portal and API.
The development will enable designated travel agents to access and book rail tickets and passes automatically without having to contact the RailTourGuide office.
RailTourGuide director Willie Stewart, a past chairman of Advantage and founder of Stewart Travel Centre, said: “I am particularly pleased to have this deal in place with Advantage.
“My experience with the management and members encouraged me to seek a deal as I know of the high calibre of the head office staff and the members.”
The consortium’s commercial manager Tania Codling added that RailTourGuide’s ability to source and issue tickets for rail journeys all over the world, including China and Vietnam, and paying excellent commission had sealed the deal.
