Mövenpick Hotels and Resorts has appointed a new Chief Financial Officer in Michel Checoury.
He will be based in Dubai and be responsible for strategic planning processes and all finance-related decisions and functions.
Frenchman Checoury joins Mövenpick from Aman Resorts, where he had worked since 2014 as CFO for the firms, which has a portfolio of 31 properties in 19 countries.
He will report to Olivier Chavy, Mövenpick’s president and CEO, who said: “Michel brings to the role a wide range of advanced technical and commercial experience, gained with some of the world’s biggest hospitality brands. His expertise will prove invaluable to the finance and executive teams, particularly as Mövenpick continues to expand its portfolio across Europe, Africa, Asia and the Middle East at a rapid pace.”
Checoury has an MBA in finance from Paris XII University and has spent his entire career working in senior financial positions for hospitality brands including Mandarin Oriental, InterContinental Hotels Group, Starwood Hotels & Resorts, the Jumeirah Group and Disneyland Paris.
