The Institute of Travel and Tourism is backing Passport to the World, a training course developed by the Global Travel and Tourism Partnership.
More than 425,000 participants study the GTTP curriculum from nine countries including the UK and Ireland.
The programme provides students with an introduction to the structure of the global travel industry. Students must complete a portfolio of work before being awarded a certificate.
ITT chairman Steven Freudmann said: “We have endorsed the curriculum because we believe it is aligned to the industry’s needs.”
