The Kuoni Group has reported a 9.9% increase in turnover to £1.1 billion while profits have grown by 143.9% to £6.8 million during the first six months of this year.
The Swiss group’s positive results to June 30, 2008, were largely driven by its Scandinavian and Asia businesses as well as its destination management unit, but its financial results statement noted that demand in the UK market has “weakened” as “the travel market continues to be very difficult”.
The report also states that the group’s attempts to reposition itself as a global travel brand had a successful start with the introduction of a contemporary logo, new brochure layout and innovative product lines.
