Triton has today claimed it has removed John McEwan from the chair of the superconsortium and has given Advantage Travel Centres one month’s notice to leave Triton.
The move follows the decision by Advantage chief executive McEwan to serve notice that Advantage will leave Triton at the end of the year.
McEwan took over the chairmanship of Triton less than five months ago at its annual conference. At the Triton Conference it was revealed the superconsortium would no longer be operating as a joint buying organisation. This raised many concerns among agents who questioned the point of the organisation.
Global and Worldchoice claim they are planning to continue as members of Triton.
Triton plans to unveil a new chairman next week.
