Jordan has four new UNESCO world heritage sites confirmed

The number of UNESCO world heritage sites in Jordan is to more than double as four of the country’s natural wonders are added to the list.

The four new sites of Al Azraq, Al Muijib, Wadi Rum and the Dana Nature Reserve will all receive additional care and attention as they are placed on the list which already features three Jordanian destinations.

The new sites have all been chosen for the bio-diversity and outstanding natural beauty they offer and join the rose city of Petra, the eighth century desert castle Qasr Amra and Umm al Rassas on the list of protected Jordanian sites.
