Grand UK Tours is recruiting additional tour managers as it anticipates an increase of more than 10% in passenger numbers this Christmas.
Sales director Harold Burke said the the over-55 specialist’s Christmas breaks programme this year features around 60 five-day tours departing on December 23, with the majority being held in the UK.
He said those wishing to work as tour managers will not only help plan routes and give an on-board commentary but will also liaise with suppliers and holiday makers to ensure the trips run smoothly.
Burke said: “Just as Santa needs extra helpers at Christmas, so do our teams of coach drivers and tour managers.
“Last year we took away more than 80 coachloads of holidaymakers over the Christmas period, and this year we’re going to take even more – so we need to recruit more tour managers.
“It may be a way for some folk to earn some extra cash over the Yuletide period, but could be the start of a career with us, as we are also recruiting more tour managers for the next summer season.”
