Travel 2 adds 37 tours in Australasia

Travel 2 has added 37 tours and 53 hotels to its 2017‑18 Australia & New Zealand brochure.

The trade-only worldwide operator has seen increased demand for luxury properties and tours in the region and has added more higher-end experiences to its 2018 programme.

These include the Outback Floatplane Adventure on a private‑island retreat in Darwin and a two-day gourmet food and wine tour of South Australia.

In New Zealand, Travel 2 is increasing its sightseeing offering and has introduced walking tours over dormant volcanic craters and guided sunset walks.

Travel 2 has seen a 25% year-on-year revenue increase to Australia and more than 40% year-on-year growth in revenue to New Zealand’s North Island.

There has also been a rise in the wider south Pacific, with an 8.8% sales increase to Fiji. It has added the Fiji Marriott Resort Momi Bay and LikuLiku Lagoon Resort in Fiji – the only hotels on the island to offer luxury overwater bungalows – “to satisfy agent demand”.

Colin Currie, head of sales at Travel 2 and its sister operator Gold Medal, said: “Australasia has seen incredible growth over the last 12 months and we are excited to head into 2018 with this expanded offering to the region.

“By including more regional and luxury experiences, we hope to help agents motivate second and third-time travellers to return.”

Agents who make qualifying bookings from the new Australia & New Zealand brochure by December 3, including return flights and at least five nights’ ground arrangements, will be in with a chance of winning one of two GoPro Hero4 cameras.
