Lao Association of Travel Agents (AS7100)
Laos is coming to World Travel Market for the first time to promote its dramatic mountain ranges and rainforests.
Hailed as a responsible tourism destination, Laos offers three UNESCO World Heritage Sites and newly discovered historical treasures, such as the 229 Buddha statues found in 2004.
Bordering China, Burma, Cambodia, Vietnam and Thailand, Laos is one of the smallest and poorest countries in the region, but it has received foreign aid to support its growing tourism industry.
Guests can stay in eco-lodges overlooking paddy fields and rainforests, or colonial houses lining the banks of the mighty Mekong River.
Travellers seeking adventure will love its uncrowded roads and cruises along the Mekong River. Visit the Lao Association of Travel Agents at stand number AS7100, under the banner ‘Simply Beautiful’.
Malaysia (AS6400)
Visitors to Malaysia’s stand will get an update on the country’s plans for travel and tourism. Macau Government Tourism Office (AS3300)
Macau wants to drive tourists to its shores to ensure it becomes a must-see on any visit to the Far East. Tourists who like a flutter can head to one of the numerous casinos, while cultural types should make a beeline for its historic centre.
Macau has a new office in the UK which will be organising an extensive programme of trade activities including training, fam trips, promotions and competitions.
Beijing Harmony International Travel Service (AS4100)
Beijing Harmony International Travel Service will be demonstrating its website for foreign travellers. The site is said to offer accurate and professional explanations of tourist attractions, hotels and restaurants in most of the major cities, as well as travel information.
Japan National Tourist Organization (AS2200)
