AITO specialist travel agents conference 2009 to be held in Poland

The Association of Independent Tour Operators specialist travel agents overseas conference 2009 will take place in the harbour town of Gdansk, Poland, the organisation has announced.

Running from 11 to 14 June 2009, the organisers hope the conference will allow travel agents and tour operators to network, share ideas and address topical issues within the travel industry whilst discovering a new destination.

AITO Specialist Travel Agents chairman, Barry Moxley of Traveltime, said, “Every year we try to seek out a destination that agents and operators will be attracted to either because it is a ‘new’ destination or because there are undiscovered parts that are not generally appreciated. So in previous years we have been to locations as varied as San Marino, Seville, Mauritius, Gibraltar, Budapest and Waterford.

“Gdansk as our choice this year will offer us all a chance to learn more about this up and coming destination. Post conference tours will also provide opportunities to see other parts of Poland including Warsaw and Krakow. We are delighted to have the enthusiastic support of the Polish National Tourist Office which has gone out of its way to put forward an enticing programme.”
