The boss of delivery service firm Yodel is to take the helm at Eurostar.
Mike Cooper, a former chief commercial officer at easyJet and boss of Portland Travel, will succeed Nicolas Petrovic as CEO of the Channel Tunnel high speed passenger rail service on March 12.
Petrovic is leaving at the end of February after seven years to become CEO of Siemens, France.
Cooper was also deputy CEO and managing director mainland Europe of Arriva, where he led the European transport business with responsibility for rail, bus and trams across 13 countries.
Eurostar chairwoman Clare Hollingsworth said: “We are delighted that Mike will be joining Eurostar as CEO as he brings a wealth of expertise to our business.
“With his strong track record of leading a major European transport business across multiple countries and his extensive experience of key consumer travel brands he is perfectly placed to lead the company into its next phase of growth.”
