Flightbookers prepares ground for ebookers.com flotation

FLIGHTBOOKERS has chosen the Nasdaq National Market and the Frankfurt Stock Exchange to float its on-line travel service ebookers.com.

Chairman and chief executive Dinesh Dhamija has enlisted company representatives to drum up interest among investors.

After flotation, it is expected the company will be valued at £150m.

The initial share price has been valued at between $13 and $15, with the exact price to be decided on November 10 when the deadline for interested parties to register is set to close. Dealing will start a few days later.

Only 30%of the company will be floated. Dhamija will continue to own the remainder – a move which it is estimated will bring him a personal fortune of about £100m.

Flightbookers announced in the summer that it intended to float ebookers.com and was considering a number of possible stock markets (Travel Weekly June 21).
