Eight river cruise passengers still being treated for Norovirus

Eight elderly British tourists remain in a German hospital after being struck down with a life-threatening illness on a Rhine cruise.

The passengers were taking a five day cruise on the Lady Anne which is operated by The River Cruise Line and were just some of 19 taken to hospitals in Boppard on Monday following an outbreak of the Norovirus.

While 77 passengers are now returning home, the eight, who are all believed to be at least 70, are still undergoing treatment.

The River Cruise Line has moved the Lady Anne’s next scheduled cruise to the Azolla while the ship is professionally cleaned. All crew and staff are undergoing medical screening in an attempt to beat the outbreak.
