Kiev Sports Palace to host Ukraine show


The Ukraine International Travel and Tourism Exhibition will take place at Kiev Sports Palace from April 5-8, 2000. Austrian Airlines is to offer discounted air fares to Kiev for the show.


Fregata enters the Transylvania market


Fregata’s 2000 programme, due out late November, will feature Transylvania for the first time, focusing on theDracula sites of Bistrita, Sighisoara, Castle Bran, Castle Peles and the monasteries of Bucovina. A seven-night half-board tour will cost around £700.


Wren’s to open first non-UK hotel in Croatia


Wren’s Group of Hotels is to open its first non-UK property, the Grand Hotel Bonavia in Rijeka, Croatia, in December. The 120-room hotel, built in 1874, has just completed a £5m refurbishment.


Eurolines offers low fares to Europe


Coach operator Eurolines has introduced promotional Red Hot Fares to central and eastern Europe this winter – £69 return to Prague, Krakow and Warsaw and £89 return to Olsztyn, Vienna, Budapest, Bratislava and Kosice.


Bogdan Travel to phase in name change


Bogdan Travel is to phase in the name Polish Regency Tours over the next three years in order to identify itself more closely with the country.


Wildlife tours on offer in Carpathians


Eco-tourism will form part of Romania Travel Centre’s 2000 Transylvania brochure, due out at the end of this month.Seven-night wildlife tours, flights with Gatwick-Bucharest and full-board accommodation in Zarnesti, near Brasov in the Carpathians, will be priced from £550.
