Emirates has been recognised above Virgin Atlantic, Norwegian, Jet2.com and Singapore Airlines as the most recognised airline brand in the UK by the YouGov BrandIndex.
Booking.com topped the travel company rankings followed by Jet2holidays, Expedia, Virgin Holidays and Tui.
The YouGov BrandIndex ranks brands using a “buzz score”, with Emirates receiving the most airline “buzz points” from respondents, making it the brand of choice for travellers in the country.
The Dubai-based carrier had a 2017 score of 4.2 against Virgin Atlantic on 2.8, Norwegian on 2.3, Jet2.com on 2.2 and SIA on 1.7.
Booking.com achieved 4.6, Jet2holidays 3.8, Expedia 2.3, Virgin Holidays 2.0 and Tui 1.8.
Manchester topped the airport recognition list followed by Amsterdam Schiphol with Singapore Changi, Doncaster Sheffield and Edinburgh in joint third place ahead of Bristol and East Midlands airports.
Eurostar was the top transport company above National Express and P&O Ferries, which tied for second place, ahead of Megabus, Eurotunnel and Stena Line in joint fourth place and Chiltern Railways.
Brands are ranked using the buzz score which asks respondents, “If you’ve heard anything about the brand in the last two weeks, through advertising, news or word of mouth, was it positive or negative?”
Scores are net scores, calculated by subtracting the percentage of negative responses from the percentage of positive responses for each brand.
Emirates brand awareness is boosted by involvement in UK sports through sponsorships, such as Arsenal Football Club and the ATP Finals, and through high-profile advertising campaigns.
The airline is adding a daily service from Stansted in June.
Emirates UK vice president Laurie Berryman said: “Achieving the title of number one airline in the UK is a great honour and reflective of the hard work and innovation we put into our products to best meet the need of passengers.
“The UK is one of our most important markets, flying into six, soon to be seven, airports, and we are proud to be best placed to meet the need of travellers looking to travel to Dubai and beyond.”
