Viking is looking for two new executives to join its expanding sales team.
The newly-created roles will assist the two key account managers in the north and south of the country.
Both positions, due to be advertised next week, will be responsible for business development and helping the trade sell and understand Viking river and ocean cruises.
Neil Barclay, Viking’s head of UK sales, said: “The roles are definitely going to help the trade in terms of resources.
“There will be day-to-day contact for agents to them drive their business, assisting them with consumer events and fam trips.”
Barclay added that both roles would not need a background in cruise but a previous experience in the travel industry “would be ideal”.
“They do not have to have a background in working on the road either,” he said, adding: “But we want them to engage [with travel agents] and have that personality and we want travel agents to buy into that.”
Barclay confirmed there would be “opportunities” for travel agents to board Orion, due to launch in July.
He said: “The key aim is to get as many agents on Orion as possible.
“2019 is really selling well through the trade. They are very important to us.”
