Mobile communications company Travel Buddy is to provide text updates to customers of Fly Thomas Cook.
Passengers will be given the option to receive texts with a flight confirmation, booking reference number, flight details, baggage allowance and weather forecasts.
The offering will also include Travel Buddy’s Ask Any Question service which allows customers to request information on local events and amenities.
The text package will come as part of Fly Thomas Cook’s In-flight Bundle which offers meals, seats together and extra luggage.
Travel Buddy commercial director Jason Rivolta said: “Offering the SMS pack during the booking path is the best way of delivering a mobile service that can generate substantial revenues.
“It’s a really flexible service allowing Fly Thomas Cook to introduce new mobile enhancements to the pack adding more value and costing it accordingly, giving them complete control of future developments to the Travel Buddy service”.
