Disney Cruise Line adds Rome as departure port

Disney Cruise Line is to offer its first departure from the port of Rome next summer and will call at seven new ports in Europe.

Bookings open on March 8 for the line’s 2019 sailings which include an eight-night itinerary by Disney Magic from Civitavecchia – the port for Rome – to Salerno, La Spezia, Villefranche, Marseilles and Barcelona on June 14.

Disney Magic’s European deployment next summer includes the Baltic, Norwegian fjords, Iceland, British Isles as well as the Mediterranean.

New ports of call include Belfast, Gothenburg and Nynashamn in Sweden; Toulon and Brest in France; Cartagena in Spain; and Fredericia in Denmark.

The 2019 schedule also covers sailings in Alaska, the Caribbean and the Bahamas, including new cruise durations by Disney Fantasy.

Disney Dream will sail a series of cruises from Port Canaveral in Florida that will include two stops at the company’s private island at Castaway Cay.

Three-night pre-cruise stays are being introduced for the first time in Barcelona, Copenhagen, Rome and Vancouver.
