Premier Inn named best performing hotel brand

Budget hotel brand Premier Inn has been given the top accolade by specialist market research company BDRC.

Premier Inn claimed the award for Most Improved Brand in Britain at a ceremony held by the Hotel Marketing Association in London. Jurys Inn and Ibis were jointly named Most Improved Business Brand. Special mentions also went to Mercure, Holiday Inn and Holiday Inn Express.

BDRC research director Tim Sander said the awards recognised the important of budget brands during the economic downturn.

He added: “Congratuations to Premier Inn for improving their brand position partly as a result of their very successful advertising campaign from the beginning of the year.”

The awards are based on the results of the BDRC British Hotel Guest Survey 2009, which was conducted in December 2008 and surveyed 1,000 business and 1,000 leisure guests. Over 100 hotel brands were measured in the study.
