The Polish National Tourist Office is expecting a large delegation to visit the country when the Association of Independent Tour Operators Specialist Travel Agents hold their overseas conference there in June.
Acting director Ewa Binkin said plans to hold this year’s conference in the city of Gdansk come after the country saw a 26% increase in British visitors to the country in 2008.
With around £500,000 available this year for marketing, Binkin is hoping agents will be able to cash in on booking the destination after their visit.
She added: “We’re benefiting from the low cost airlines as they’ve opened up different destinations in Poland but I would like more scheduled airlines to come in.”
