Travelopia has appointed Andy Duncan to succeed Will Waggott as chief executive.
Duncan has previously served as chief executive of Camelot UK, the National Lottery operator and chief executive of H.R. Owen, the UK’s largest luxury car business, and of Channel 4.
He also spent three years at the BBC, as director of marketing, communications and audiences, including leading the launch of Freeview.
Duncan starts his new role tomorrow while Waggott will remain for an indefinite handover period.
Waggott, chief executive of Travelopia, said: “Travelopia has achieved a significant amount over the past few years, building a firm foundation for future growth following the separation from Tui. The business that I hand over to Andy is in a strong place, with a portfolio of leading brands, a loyal base of customers across the world, and a great team. His expertise in consumers, brands and digital transformation will be a real asset.”
Travelopia has 53 brands in its portfolio and carries around 800,000 customers a year. Its brands include Hayes & Jarvis, Jetsave, Citalia and Sunsail.
The division was sold by Tui last year to private equity firm KKR for £325 million.
In February the group announced it would be selling its 10 education brands in the spring to focus on its remaining 42 experiential tour operator businesses.
