Cowley in talks over new industry role

Former Resorthoppa sales and marketing director Paul Cowley is considering potential roles in travel after his departure from the transfer specialist.

Cowley, who has recently recovered from a bout of pneumonia, left Resorthoppa at the end of 2008 after its decision to close its Birmingham call centre, where he was based, under new owners Low Cost Travel Group. He is now in talks with at least two companies with a view to taking on a new role in March with either a tour operator or a travel agency.

“I decided to leave Resorthoppa because a lot of my brief as sales and marketing director was managing the call centre in terms of customer service as well as sales and overseas development,” added Cowley. “I am having conversations and hope to be back in the industry in March.”

Of the 18 call centre staff, 16 have been made redundant and two have moved to the East Grinstead offices. The call centre functions have been moved to Alicante in Spain.
