Additional flights between London and Phoenix in Arizona are being introduced by British Airways from today (Tuesday).
Services will initially be added on Tuesdays and Fridays, with a Sunday frequency introduced from May 6.
The additional three flights a week will be available until October on top of an existing daily service from Heathrow.
BA’s current daily service from London to Phoenix departs Heathrow at 2.45pm and arrives at Phoenix Sky Harbor International airport at 5.35pm local time.
The new flights will depart from Heathrow at 12.15pm and touch down in Phoenix at 3.00pm local time. Heathrow-Phoenix fares lead in at £782.11 return, including taxes and charges.
Arizona Office of Tourism director Debbie Johnson said: “The UK is Arizona’s second-largest source of overseas visitors, and BA’s decision to add new service to Phoenix is a reflection of the appeal our state holds for Brits and other European travellers.
“In addition to the Grand Canyon, there are 21 other national parks and monuments in Arizona, and the iconic landmarks – such as Monument Valley, Canyon de Chelly and Havasupai Falls – found within Arizona’s tribal lands are among the most beautiful places in North America.”
