Shearings Holidays has added coach tours in May that include a chance to travel on the Flying Scotsman as it visits the East Lancashire Railway.
The coach operator is urging agents are urged to promote these breaks now “to avoid disappointment” as the tours sold out early last year.
Each trip will include a journey through the scenery of the West Pennines along the tracks of the East Lancashire Railway from Bury to Rawtenstall or Heywood.
The Flying Scotsman is the oldest mainline working locomotive on Britain’s tracks.
A two-day half-board package, departing May 12, costs from £119 per person, including all coach travel and the Flying Scotsman trip and pick ups in the north west – based on two sharing.
A three-day half-board package with pick-ups from the south east of England, starts from £169 per person.
