Uniworld has announced plans to turn two of its vessels into ‘super ships’ for 2019.
The luxury river cruise line’s fifth ‘super ship’, SS Beatrice, launched this week after being given a full renovation over the winter.
Uniworld’s president and chief executive Ellen Bettridge confirmed that both the River Royale and River Empress will also be upgraded at the end of the 2018 season, and they will be ready as ‘super ships’ for April 2019.
While no further detail has been given on the renovations, the SS Beatrice features a new owner’s suite, two new royal suites, two additional dining venues, an extended lounge area and a grand staircase.
Speaking from SS Beatrice’s maiden voyage on the Danube River, Bettridge, said: “We are excited that both River Royale and River Empress will become super ships. We have listened to our customers. They wanted more suites and new dining venues, which is exactly what we have given them with the super ships.”
