Jacobs Media Group signs partnership to support cultural awards

Europe’s largest travel trade media company has joined forces with cultural travel specialist Leading Culture Destinations to present its annual awards.

Jacobs Media Group – the parent company of Travel Weekly – will work in partnership with LCD on the awards, and will produce a publication which will be made available to travel agents via a digital edition.

Now in their fifth year, the LCD Awards honour organisations, businesses, cities and destinations around the world based on their contribution to cultural life.

Awards categories include Leading Museums, Experiential Destinations and Travellers’ Awards, while other sections showcase commitment to sustainability and excellence in ‘soft power’ – inspiring visitors through cultural appeal.

Florian Wupperfeld, co-founder of LCD, said: “Cultural destinations are not only for art experiences and education; they have become social hubs for visitors to spend time, dine, shop, work and even sleep.

“Travellers visiting cities say that ‘culture’ is key when they make their decision to visit.”

Daniela Wagner, head of international partnerships at Jacobs Media Group, added: “We are very excited to be working with the LCD team on this fantastic project.”

The LCD Awards (LCDAs) will take place on Friday, September 28, with an official launch due shortly. For more information, contact Isabella.sharp@jacobsmediagroup.com.
