P&O Cruises appoints new director of distribution

Bethany Bond has been named by P&O Cruises in the newly-created role of director of distribution.

She is to join from Air New Zealand were she was most recently head of strategy and alliances, with responsibility for distribution strategy across the UK and Europe.

Bond, who takes up her new role in August, will work with P&O Cruises new Partnership team in developing and supporting implementation of the line’s distribution strategy.

She will report to P&O Cruises sales and distribution vice-president Alex Delamere-White.

He said: I am delighted that a leader of Beth’s experience will be joining us in this totally new role which has been created in order to define our approach to underpin the growth of the brand, the launch of our two new ships within the next four years and the increase in capacity they will bring.

“The recruitment of this role now completes our sales leadership team.”

Bond will work alongside trade engagement and onboard sales director Rosy Sims, while supporting trade sales director Nathaniel Sherborne “in defining our overall trade approach,” Delamere-White added.

“Beth brings with her a wealth of experience and I am confident that her proven ability to exceed commercial objectives will help us achieve the desired results as we work to expand and exploit the new to cruise market,” he said.

A graduate of the University of California, Bond has worked in the travel industry for more than ten years.
