Bomb in Cairo targets tourists

A French tourist was killed and another 20 people injured in a bomb explosion in Cairo, Egypt yesterday.


The bomb exploded at an open air cafe filled with tourists in the Khan al-Khalili area. According to reports the French tourist killed was a 17-year old girls on a trip with a group of young people from Levallois, France.


It is thought the homemade bomb was thrown from the upper floor of a hotel. The area is popular with tourists.
