London Mayor Boris Johnson has revealed plans for a month of events celebrating the capital’s past, present and future to appeal to tourists and London residents.
The Story of London will include lectures, walking tours, art, music, design, literature and theatre across the city as well as live events.
Highlights for June include: A Story of London Walking Weekend (June 6-7); The BFI Jazz & Film Weekenders (June 12-14) in partnership with Ronnie Scott; and a Living History Weekend (June 20-21) in association with Historical Royal Palaces and English Heritage.
The Story of London comes as an increasing number of agents look to capitalise on consumers’ renewed interest in the UK as a holiday destination in the light of the weak pound and recession.
