Saga has invited every agent at the Clia Conference to its new ship Spirit of the Discovery next year.
On Thursday (May 24), Iain Powell, the line’s head of trade sales, took to the stage at the conference in Southampton to offer 400 agents to chance to see the 999-passenger vessel in July 2019.
The delegates will be joined by an additional 300 members of the trade on the overnight ship visit who will be approached individually by Saga in the coming months or earn a spot through incentives.
Powell said: “The reason we are doing the ship overnight is that it’s vitally important we involve our agents in this new venture.
“The main thing we will be showcasing is that Spirit of Discovery is a luxury small cruise ship built for the UK market.
“It is about getting agents to experience it first-hand.”
Approximately twenty agents will visit the Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany, on two trips in October and November to see Spirit of Discovery being built.
