Gold Medal and Travel 2 have made four appointments to their trade sales team.
Clare Weatherall, key account manager for four years, has been appointed to the role of head of national accounts and will report directly to Nick Hughes, sales director B2B Europe.
Gemma Wilks has been appointed to the role of key account manager. She joins from Bourne Leisure where she was sales executive,
Hollie Stillion, currently key account manager for London, has been promoted to the new position of business development manager, and Helen Warnes, currently a team leader within Travel 2, has been promoted to the newly-created role of air account manager. Both Stillion and Warnes will report to head of sales Colin Currie.
Meanwhile, Gemma Pinder, key account manager for the north east and Yorkshire, will be leaving the business at the end of the month to join rival trade-only operator If Only.
Hughes said: “Both of our businesses are growing, as such we need a structure that is fit for purpose and can take us to the next level. I’m excited to be able to further strengthen our support for our partners and drive continual improvement within both businesses.
“Recruiting from within allows me to capitalise on the talent we have nurtured within the business whilst bringing in new talent from the travel industry ensures we will have a fresh eyes perspective too.
“I’d like to thank Gemma for her contribution to the business and wish her the best of luck for the future. I’m looking forward to welcoming our new team members to their new roles and working together to continue to deliver more for our travel agent partners.”
Hughes plans to make further appointments to his sales team over the coming months, including a replacement for Pinder.
