NCL pulls sailings from Southampton in 2010

NCL Freestyle Cruising is to stop ex-Southampton sailings in 2010.

Norwegian Jade will sail out of Barcelona while  Norwegian Gem will sail from the port of Venice.

The company says it is part of a strategy to simplify NCL’s European offer while providing greater choice as the demand for fly-cruise grows.

Norwegian Jewel will continue to operate out of the UK operating its Baltics itinerary round-trip from Dover.

NCL UK general manager Stephen Park said: “The accessibility of Venice by air and the convenience of seven-night sailings means the itineraries will appeal to a new younger demographic, whilst experienced cruisers have the option of 14-night back-to-back sailing.”
