EFR Travel plots expansion after appointing leisure group director

Luxury tour operating expert Alison Scott is joining EFR Travel as group director, leisure and marketing as the company plots further expansion.

She spent two years as head of product at ITC, five years as commercial director at Elegant Resorts, and more recently three years in the same role at Simpson Travel.

Scott joins on July 2 taking on responsibility for the group’s leisure brands, including Luxury Worldwide Collection and Elegant Golf Resorts. She will also lead group marketing.

EFR Travel founder and chief executive Edward Rom said: “We are delighted to have someone of Alison’s pedigree and experience join us.

“We have bold ambitions for our leisure businesses and under Alison’s leadership, I’m sure we will grow significantly.”

Chairman John McEwan added: “Alison has enjoyed a very successful career with some respected and well-known businesses.

“We are delighted that she is bringing her expertise to EFR, to lead our leisure travel growth strategy.”

Scott said: “I am delighted to be joining EFR Travel and working with Edward, John and the team.

“EFR is a forward-thinking business with ambitious plans and it’s a fantastic opportunity for me to use my experience in luxury travel and marketing to contribute to these plans and take the business to the next level.”
