Norwegian to commence Ireland-Canada services in 2019

Low-cost carrier Norwegian is to start its first service to Canada from Ireland next year.

Daily flights will run from Dublin to Hamilton for Toronto from March 31.

The airline will deploy a single-class 189-seat Boeing 737MAX on the route with fares starting at €189 one-way.

Norwegian will continue its growth at Dublin by continuing its summer 2018 schedule into the winter.

This features a double daily service to Stewart, New York and daily flights to Providence, which offers access to New York City, Boston and the New England area.

Norwegian’s CEO Bjorn Kjos said: “Today marks a milestone in Norwegian’s transatlantic expansion from Ireland as we announce the first ever direct route between Dublin and Hamilton. This is also our first ever service between Europe and Canada.”

Hamilton in Ontario is 50 minutes from Toronto with Niagara Falls an hour away.

Dublin airport managing director Vincent Harrison added: “Dublin airport is delighted to see Norwegian launch this new service to Hamilton – Toronto.

“It will be Dublin airport’s fifth destination in Canada, offering further choice to the growing Canada-Ireland and Ireland-Canada markets and the overall transatlantic market between Dublin and North America.”
