Fred Olsen teams up with Thomas Cook on ad campaign

Fred Olsen Cruise Lines has launched a national television ad campaign in partnership with Thomas Cook. 


The campaign will run throughout April 2009 and promotes all five ships in Fred Olsen’s fleet and Thomas Cook’s worldwide destinations.


The theme is the friendly feel aboard Fred Olsen ships, backed with a 1960s Dusty Springfield soundtrack.


The 40-second commercial will be appearing on both terrestrial and satellite channels including ITV1, ITV3, Channel 4 and More 4. Customers will be given the option to call Thomas Cook to book, or text to request a brochure.


Fred Olsen marketing manager Mike Bird said: “Well over 90% of our bookings come through the travel trade and Thomas Cook is one of our leading agents, so working in partnership with them makes a lot of sense for both of us.   


“We know our customers and potential customers respond well to this commercial and the schedule has been carefully planned to cover TV that reflects their interests – hence the focus on gardening, golf and classic British TV programmes.”
