Qatar Airways to operate triple-daily flights from Manchester

Qatar Airways plans to run triple daily flights from Manchester airport by next summer.

The frequency of Manchester-Doha flights will rise to three a day by May 2019.

The Gulf carrier currently runs 16 flights a week between the two cities – double daily on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays with triple daily flights already operating on Mondays and Saturdays.

Third daily flights on Tuesdays and Thursdays are being added from September 18 with additional frequencies on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays being introduced from May 22, 2019.

Qatar Airways connects passengers from Manchester to more than 150 destinations via its Doha hub including Asia, Africa, Australia and New Zealand.

The flights from Manchester will be operated by a mix of 254-seat Boeing 787 Dreamliners and 283-seat Airbus A350s, both offering business and economy cabins and in-flight wi-fi.

Acting senior vice president Europe, Ishfaq Jalal, said: “Qatar Airways enjoys a special relationship with Manchester as demonstrated by the ever-increasing amount of tourist and business traffic passing between our countries and through Doha to our global network.

“We remain committed to providing the levels of service quality and in-flight experience that has increased the demand for our airline.”

Airport aviation director Julian Carr added: “We’re delighted to see Qatar Airways continue to grow at Manchester airport. Since they started 15 years ago they’ve gone from four flights a week to the three a day they will operate from next May.”
