Abercrombie & Kent makes three sales appointments

Abercrombie & Kent has made three appointments to its sales and marketing teams following a realignment of the business.

Mark Harris has been appointed sales manager for the south of England. Harris was previously senior sales and business development manager for the south at Wendy Wu Tours.

Diogo Castanheira has been appointed sales manager for northern England, Scotland and Ireland. He has held roles at airlines and tour operators for nearly 20 years and joins from Hianan Airlines where he was account manager.

The luxury operator created the two new agency sales roles after UK sales manager Rachel Healey left the business to join Uniworld in April.

Ben Briggs is to join the luxury operator as senior marketing manager – distribution.

Briggs also joins from Wendy Wu where he was head of marketing.

He will manage a team of five which oversees PR, brand partnerships, social media and digital, and report into Lisa Warner, director of marketing who joined the business 18 months ago.

In June it was announced Michael Fleetwood would move from Cox & Kings to take on the newly-created role of programme manager for escorted tours at Abercrombie & Kent.

He is be responsible for the relaunch of A&K’s escorted tours programme from September.

The personnel changes follow a realignment of the business earlier in the year to create specialist programmes for each of its key divisions – tailor-made, escorted tours, villas, ski, beach and private clients.

A new ‘Preferred Agent’ programme is also being launched.

Kerry Golds, managing director of A&K said: “Our business is growing, and with that comes exciting change as we welcome new faces to the business at a time when we’ve never been stronger.

“Today’s pace of change is exponential, and we need to excel in all areas of our business, and our investment in these new appointments will ensure continued success.”
