Cypriot carrier Cobalt Air is to raise agents’ commission from 1% to 3% to encourage bookings via GDS.
The airline, which runs 20 flights a week from the UK, is making the extra 2% remuneration available until the end of the year.
However, the limited-time commission deal is only available for agents connected to GDS using the UK Billing and Settlement Plan (BSP).
Colbalt Air joined BSP in June and agreed to distribute to the trade via Amadeus a month later.
Chief commercial officer Paul Simmons said: “We really value and understand the role that travel agents play in our industry.
“We also understand that it is sometimes a good idea to give our partners in the trade a small advantage over other channels.
“This is why we have launched a 3% commission scheme via BSP on all Cobalt Air bookings between now and December 31.”
The carrier serves Larnaca from Heathrow, Gatwick, Stansted and Manchester as well as a Gatwick-Athens service.
