PricewaterhouseCoopers analysts to speak at ABTA conference

PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) analysts will speak about consumer trends during the recession at this year’s ABTA Travel Convention.

PwC UK retail and consumer leader Mark Hudson will provide delegates with advice on business planning when he takes to the stage in Barcelona in October.

He will explain how economic conditions will affect the consumer of the future; what their attitudes will be to purchasing; what they will consider value for money and what the implications will be for pricing and branding strategy.

Carnival UK chief commercial officer Peter Shanks – who attended Hudson’s session at last year’s convention – said: “The range of PwC partners means they have a unique oversight of consumer trends and the triggers companies need to pull to survive and prosper in tough economic times. He may just have that magic piece of advice that makes the difference.”

PwC head of travel Malcolm Preston will also speak about consumer trends and how the industry should plan for the next 18 months.
