Delta Air Lines is extending it summer season of flights between Glasgow airport and New York-JFK next year.
The daily service will add more than 5,000 extra seats in each direction next summer.
The US carrier will re-start flights, operated in conjunction with partner Virgin Atlantic, on May 24, 2019.
They will run for seven more weeks than this year, ending on October 26, 2019.
The carrier has scheduled a 167-seat Boeing 757-200 on the route, including 15 flat-beds in business class.
It will be Delta’s third season operating to Scotland’s largest city.
Vice president transatlantic, Roberto Ioriatti, said: “Glasgow has strong historic and commercial links with the United States and those ties have supported our flight to go from strength-to-strength.
“We’re giving our customers even more opportunity to explore the Big Apple and beyond with more than 40 convenient connections from New York’s JFK.”
Francois Bourienne, chief commercial officer for Glasgow airport owner AGS Airports, added: “Since launching in May last year, the airline’s Glasgow to New York-JFK service has proved very popular with long-haul passengers looking to either stay in the
Big Apple or make use of the fantastic onward connections available thanks to the route’s convenient flight times.
“The addition of a further 5,000 seats on this daily service to one of the world’s busiest hub airports is great news for the city and indeed the wider region and cements Glasgow’s position as Scotland’s principal long-haul airport.”
