Senior staff at The Co-operative Travel are hoping to raise thousands of pounds for charity by cycling 120 miles from their headquarters to London on June 24.
The team, who will cycle 120 miles from Stoke on Trent in two days, includes specialist retail businesses managing director Neil Braithwaite and his wife Susie; director of commercial Shaun Hinds; head of business development and integration Paul Carpenter; online marketing coordinator Chris Pattinson and Freedom Travel Agents consortium head Jane Atkins
When the team reaches London, Braithwaite and his wife will continue pedalling to Paris.
Braithwaite said: “I’m a keen cyclist but this is the first time I’ve cycled from London to Paris.
“I thought it would be fun to add a couple of warm-ups for the other people to join me on. It won’t be easy, but it’s all for a very good cause.”
Hinds added: “We would like to say a big thank you to all our travel industry colleagues who have supported us, particularly Avis and Superbreak, who have provided accommodation and a support vehicle for the ride.”
The team will raise money for Royal National Institute for Deaf People.
