Thomson and First Choice have launched a recruitment drive for more than 250 staff at their Coventry and Luton offices.
The positions are mainly in parent company TUI Travel’s distribution and customer support divisions, but the company is also seeking legal staff.
The company is recruiting a pre-travel team of more than 100 staff in Coventry to deal with customer requirements across its brands. It will include a dedicated team of 28 wedding specialists. These roles will also include programme change managers and analysts.
In Luton, about 120 roles will be created to deal with after-travel customer service. The roles will include customer service advisers, team leaders and managers, and they will be tasked with resolving holidaymakers’ problems as quickly as possible, to avoid lengthy customer complaint processes.
The company is also recruiting 35 legal staff in Luton to deal with customer claims, litigation and redress.
The recruitment follows a full customer services review in December last year, and ties in with plans for agency shop staff to handle complaints for the first time. These complaints would be escalated to staff in the new roles.
Thomson and First Choice HR director Jacky Simmonds said: “We will be looking for naturally empathetic applicants who can help deliver exceptional customer service.”
