Scottravel Holidays ceases trading

Turkey specialist Scottravel Holidays has ceased trading with more than 1,000 customers abroad, the Civil Aviation Authority has announced.

The operator, which was based in Bellshill, Lanarkshire, mainly sold through travel agents but also operated scottravelholidays.co.uk and guletcruiseonline.co.uk.

The CAA estimates that 1,300 of the company’s customers are currently abroad and will be making arrangements for ATOL protected customers to complete their holidays and fly home. Inbound flight changes may be necessary for those customers.

If ATOL protected customers are asked to pay again for their hotel stay, a claim can be lodged with the CAA for consideration under the ATOL Scheme.

Customers booked to travel are advised not to go their departure airport as their holidays have been cancelled. Those who booked with an agent are advised to submit a claim to the CAA.

Please note Turkey specialist Scottravel Holidays  is unrelated to Buckinghamshire-based independent travel agency Scott Travel, which specialises in tailor made safaris, honeymoons, and skiing.
