James Villas has raised £15,000 for homelessness charity Porchlight.
The villa holidays specialist, based in Maidstone, Kent, started fundraising at the start of 2017 for the cause, which supports homeless adults and children in the south east.
Staff have raised donations through sporting activities such as the KM Dragon Boat Race, a colour run, the London Marathon, Tonbridge Half Marathon and a 50km bike ride.
On World Travel Day staff dressed-up in around-the-world themed costumes, garden cinema events have been held, a Harry Potter themed day raised funds and during ‘Socktober’ staff donated winter footwear to help Kent’s homeless stay warm throughout the winter months.
Visual content specialist Tania Warman has become the fundraising co-ordinator at James Villas. She said: “Homelessness has become an increasing area of concern for the local people in Kent and we want to help shout about the issue and support them as much as we can. We’re really proud of what we’ve been able to achieve so far and look forward to continuing to raise money for such a worthwhile and local cause.”
James Villas plans to add to its fundraising efforts through a Purple4Porchlight day, where staff don the charity’s colours to raise awareness, and a Christmas jumper day.
