Passengers on cruise ship Marco Polo whose trip was cut short by an outbreak of norovirus last week, will receive a full refund as a “gesture of goodwill”.
The customers will also be given a full refund for on-board beverage expenses, as well as a 50% discount voucher off their next Marco Polo cruise out of the UK.
The 10-day cruise around Britain was terminated at Invergordon, Scotland when 380 passengers and crew came down with norovirus. An 74-year-old man died on the ship from a heart attack, but it is not known whether he was suffering from the virus.
The ship returned to Tilbury Docks in London on July 11 and all passengers have returned home.
